Exceeded Expectations

I ordered two mixed packs of 60, so 120 corms in total representing all of the colors from the Carlsbad Flower Fields. They were packaged thematically, making it so easy to plant a pastel bed, a rainbow bed, and a picotee bed. Extra effort was put in to prepping the soil with compost, kelp, green sand and tomato fertilizer. They were also planted on the high side, as it rains a lot here and I didn't want them to rot. I had Bio360 black film so I used that, as well as covering them with either Reemay or fir boughs (we still had frost occasionally) . They went in the ground the first week of March and grew painfully slowly through our cold, wet and windy spring. They were given fish emulsion every couple of weeks, but for a long time not much happened; I kind of figured that the horrible weather had done them in. It is now mid-June and suddenly they are in full bloom with such amazing colors that it is hard to believe that they are real. I just picked three bouquets of stunning ranunculus with 24" long , strong stems-- and you can't even tell that I picked any. There are so many bright cheery flowers gently bouncing on the breeze, and I am completely smitten. Thank you for sharing this wonderful collection with us. It was so interesting and rewarding to grow them.

UNBELIEVABLE!

I have never had ranunculus that looked like this....never, ever. These are blooming now and I have them mixed with yellow Dutch Iris. It is is a showstopper. People stop and take pictures of the flowers. Take selfies with the flowers. They are just gorgeous. The ranunculus are so full and lush. The flower heads are big and full of petals. And the colors are just vibrant and gorgeous. I can hardly wait to order more for next year.
