Negronne, also known as Violette du Bordeaux, flaunts large, lobed leaves and honey-sweet fruit that will tempt every bird in the neighborhood. The outer skins of the fresh figs are deep purple to near-black, with delicious dark red inner flesh. This compact and adaptable plant is fast-growing, low-maintenance, and entirely self-fertile, meaning only one tree is needed to produce its ripe, juicy fruit. As a rather petite cultivar, Fig Plants are ideal for containers on sunny porches and patios. During the winter months, bring Negronne inside and give it a place to thrive by your sunniest window. 
Deep mahogany fig fruits are sweet, delicious and abundant. You can expect up to 100 pints of figs from a healthy tree! New trees will fruit in the fall while older growth trees will fruit in the spring. The fig tree will grow 2 to 3 feet per year and maxes out at around 8 feet tall with deciduous leaves that will drop off for the winter months.
