Not kidding, easy to grow and they take off fast! Similar growth to gladiolus but longer show.
These are one of my favorite flowers to grow - a lot of bang for the buck! They are very easy, require minimal care, have a long growth window (at least in Seattle). I planted mine in July, I think (I procrastinated - had meant to plant in May) - they came up very quickly and were beautiful through November. Wonderful. And the scent is heavenly (and gets stronger in the evening). I love watching people walk by our garden and stop to sniff them...I'm surprised they aren't more popular because they are beautiful, easy to grow and smell great. They do well in pots, too.
Quick growing plant that sends up 3-4' glad-like leaves almost overnight. The plant is not as stiff as glads and did fine during Texas's strong straightline winds without staking.
I planted it in three areas with sun varying from all-day to half-day and it grew vigorously in all. The bulbs/corms are quick at propagating, when I dug up some of the bulbs (1 year later) they had already formed decent sized clumps. My only complaint is that the end of the leaves tended to brown under our hot summer sun.
