A lovely source of vivid color in late fall through late spring, this South African native bears tight clusters of leaves along its stems, crowned with rich magenta blooms with cheery yellow eyes. Charming used in rock gardens or containers, particularly effective used with succulents and ground covers. With the heat of summer, Hirta will go dormant, and prefers dry conditions until it emerges again in the fall.
