Not unlike grape hyacinths in form but ideally suited to Mediterraneam climes. Lachenalia Rupert flowers are pale blue flushed deeper blue and purple tips. Leaves are bright green with mottled appearance. Excellent planted with succulents in the garden and superb in containers. Be sure to plant in an area with good drainage and prefers sandy soil but thrives even in clay soils when in full sun. Blooming in late winter to early spring, they add color to the garden at a typically low point in the season. Small scale but pack a real visual punch.
