Ginger is a tropical perennial native to the hot and humid parts of Asia, the species most commonly used for its edible rhizome. Hundreds of varieties are grown commercially. We offer two main categories of ginger plants; flowering ginger, the kind used for ornamental purposes and common, culinary ginger, the type used in cooking and for medicinal uses.

Ornamental ginger plants can be a great way to add exotic color, foliage, and dramatic blooms to your garden.  There are many types of flowering ginger, but most are large plants with showy foliage and even showier blooms.  They are fabulously beautiful and grow in a range of sizes, flower shapes, and colors. Whether they go in beds or in containers, these plants offer stunning color in your garden. 

We also offer three types  of culinary ginger; Common Ginger (Zingiber officinale), the pungent, aromatic spice used widely in many types of cooking and medicinal purposes; Turmeric (Curcuma longa), used as a spice and as a medicine (turmeric gives curry its beautiful golden yellow color), and Cardamom (Amomum subulatum), so very popular in Indian cuisine, and the 3rd most precious spice in the world!
