Caradonna is a newer salvia, bred in Germany and being well received for its stand our characteristics: a strong, upright form that resists flopping and bright violet-blue flowers that are outstanding in both the landscape and in a vase. This plant's flowers attract butterflies and hummingbirds, but happily deer, elk and rabbits aren't interested in the foliage or blooms. Mix with warm brights from the opposite of the color wheel for impactful combinations: golden rudbeckia Goldstrum, orange canna Wyoming, and yellow and wine red daylily Bonanza. Deadhead to extend blooming period. Heat and drought tolerant once established.
