Dahlias

Color, form, height - dahlias offer a dizzying array of choices, all of them beautiful.  Select a few favorites (if you can pass up the rest) and you'll congratulate yourself later.

Native to Central and South America, dahlias like the heat of summer but continue to flower late into the fall, delivering an exceptionally long blooming period.  When other garden plants have quit for the season, dahlias keep producing a bounty of dazzling flowers.

For filling late summer and autumn holes left by other plants and for cutting, think dahlias. Fascinating fringed, quilled, dinner plate and classic forms; you'll want them all.
