Bearded iris are tall and develop into large clumps perfect for anchor positions in the middle and back of the garden. When not producing gorgeous 6-7 blooms, bearded iris' spiky foliage provides a strong architectural design element, making these perennials invaluable in mixed flower beds. Give your iris abundant sunshine and they'll provide an incredible floral show. As an additional bonus, these are deer resistant.
A quick planting note; in northern climates it's a good idea to plant as early in the fall as possible so your iris have time to root in before the cold weather arrives. The rule of thumb is to allow your plants 5-6 weeks to root in before the first killing frost. In warmer climates, you can successfully plant through November.
