Saffron Crocuses

Most serious cooks have discovered the pleasures of growing their own fresh herbs but did you know that you can also grow saffron, that stunningly expensive spice used for Spanish, Greek and Moroccan cuisine? Actually the dried stamen of the saffron crocus, this tasty and colorful spice is typically used in very small quantities and so a small patch of these flowers will produce enough for most home cooks.
