Calochortus (Mariposa Lilies)
Native plants have been gaining in popularity for years and there are good reasons why. They are perfectly suited to the soils, moisture levels and temperatures in the regions where they are naturally found, so they aren't needy or greedy. Often they will also thrive in similar climatic areas in other parts of the country, so with a little upfront effort to determine suitability, they are delightful low maintenance options.
Calochortus are outstanding examples of plants that perform well in garden settings similar to their native environments; warm, moderate to dry and with well drained soils. Haven't tried them yet? Here's your chance.
Note: Prices below are for packages of 10 bulbs, all in the largest sizes commercially available.
Shipping: Freshly harvested (not collected from the wild) calochortus bulbs are shipped from mid September through December for immediate planting.
