The Carlsbad Flower Fields
See the photo on the top of this screen? It was taken at The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch, an amazing 50 acre flower farm located 30 miles north of San Diego, California.
On this incredible site overlooking the Pacific Ocean, millions of colorful blossoms decorate the hillside from March through May. The sight is so mesmerizing that hundreds of thousands of flower lovers flock to see the blooms each spring.
With the perfect combination of temperature, sunlight, soil and moisture, this is the world's premiere location for growing the famous Giant strain of Tecolote Ranunculus (Persian Buttercups). These sumptuous flowers have graced the southern California coast for more than 60 years. Recently, gardeners beyond California have begun to discover them.
At the Flower Fields, Giant Tecolote Ranunculus have been refined for generations to produce exceptionally large blooms and lots of them. Available in a rainbow of lavish hues, each flower is packed with hundreds of silky petals. You'd be hard pressed to find a fuller, more lush blossom anywhere.
Recently, fancy strains of Giant Tecolote Ranunculus have been introduced by the Flower Fields horticulturalists. These Picotee flowers flaunt two-toned petals with vivid brushings, splashes and bright ribbon edgings. The new Picotees are not widely available, but can be found on this website.
In addition to Ranunculus, The Flower Fields grow Amaryllis, Watsonia, Babiana, Tritonia, Anemones, Oxalis, and other gorgeous, exotic South African flower bulbs.
For years, we have been the exclusive distributor of the incredible Flower Fields bulbs. These flower bulbs are sold only through this website, a handful of gardening catalogs and select California garden centers.
