Salvia May Night

The Perennial Plant Association, a trade organization comprised mostly of professional growers, designates a single plant each year as their top choice. In 1997, their selection was Salvia May Night. Chosen for its plentiful indigo violet flowers, this cultivar begins to flower very early, often in May and continues through June with an autumn rebloom possible if the earlier crop of flowers are snipped off so the plant can't put its energy into setting seed.
