South Africa produces a number of outstanding bulbs and Nerine is right up at the head of the pack. Not well known, but very worth growing, this variety produces flowers with the slenderest of petals, configured in a wonderfully crinkly form. These plants bloom in early autumn when most gardens need a little extra kick. The foliage is strappy and close to evergreen in warm climates where it yellows just a few weeks before being replaced by a whole new set of leaves, fresh for the next round. These plants are excellent late season focal points. Requires very well drained soil.
