This hyacinth is an heirloom, introduced in 1910 and gracing garden for almost 100 years now. Try as they might, breeders have not been able to improve on this rich, bright red. The fragrance is intense and the constitution is tough as nails. And the look, well, see for yourself. Jan Bos blooms a week or so earlier than most of the rest of this group, making it valuable for extending the hyacinth season and the heavenly fragrance that comes with these beauties. If you've got a good place to chill bulbs, this variety is a good forcer.
