If you've got even a passing case of daylily addiction (common these days among gardeners in all parts of the country), you've undoubtedly heard of David Kirchhoff. This Kentucky breeder is well known for creating oodles of fancy cultivars, lots with a double set of petals, many displaying frills on their ruffles and dozens with flashing contrasting eyezones. This daylily was bred by Jeff Salter, another well know player in the daylily breeders circle, and named for her friend. Rose pink blooms are offset by distinctive ruffled yellow edges on this gorgeous daylily. It is a semi-evergreen (foliage stays green year round in warmer climates) tetraploid (extra sturdy foliage and strong flower stems) that reblooms late in the season in warmer parts of the country. Very fancy, but without the usual flashy girl's fussy attitude.
