Navaho blackberries are a very popular thornless variety developed by the University of Arkansas, a cultivar used as a benchmark for all other varieties. The canes are erect, requiring no trellises and allowing for easy harvesting. The fruit has excellent flavor with a high sugar content; if your preference is for sweet, not tart berries, these fit the bill. Thornless Navaho produces generous crops beginning in June and continuing for five to six weeks.
