One of the last astilbes to bloom, Chinensis Finale makes an excellent season extender to ensure that your shady garden areas are colorful for weeks during the summer. This clump forming perennial serves a great groundcover, with finely cut leaves and a flowering period can be extended by removing faded blooms. Chinese astilbes tend to be a bit more sun resistant than other types and can also manage slightly drier soils.
