Who do voodoo? You do! What could you do with a Voodoo lily? Tuck it in a shady spot that gets moisture during the growing season and remains pretty dry during the fall and winter. (Or pot it up so growing conditions are easy to manage.) Watch it develop into an unusual 2 to 3 foot tall plant, which when mature, will produce a slender curled pink bloom, similar to the flower of a Spath or Peace lily. The flower produced an odd, and frankly unpleasant scent for the first day after opening and then persists for another 8-10 days with no notable smell. After the blossom fades an attractive cluster or red berries develops. If you like sharing plants, you'll appreciate the large quantity small bulblets that are produced, expanding your collection. Foliage is large and palmate, and the main stem is attractively mottled. (See Image Gallery photo.)
