Colorful, chocolaty bronze foliage, often with a hint of purple, and pretty lavender blue trumpet-shaped flowers set this plant apart from its peers. Ajuga Chocolate Chip lends itself to edgings, groundcover applications, pairings with spring and summer blooming bulbs and woodland gardens. Foliage is evergreen in all but the coldest areas, creating a covering for bare soil year round, or close to it. Will naturalize where happy, spreading to fill in around the ankles of larger neighbors. Tolerant of even poor soil as long as there's no standing water.
